We received Isaac's diagnosis of DMD in September of 2016 when Isaac was 3 years old. Isaac's diagnosis has impacted our entire family, his older brothers Luke and Peter and his younger sister Evelyn Anne. DMD primarily impacts the muscles but its impact is felt in more than just the loss of mobility. Isaac is now a busy grade one student, he is participating in a clinical trial out of the Children’s Hospital of London with Dr. Craig Campbell. Dr. Campbell’s research has been supported by Jesse’s Journey. We are all excited to host Isaac's Trek for Treats again this year and are hopeful that by taking action and raising money for Jesse's Journey we will help to reach a cure for DMD. This year has been especially exciting as we have branched out thanks to the amazing Acton Running community. In June we had runners participate in the Cobourg to Niagara Ragnar, they raised over $5000 for Isaac’s Trek. On September 7, World Duchenne Day Isaac’s mom Meg will be running the inaugural Trail Fix race. We will finish off our fundraising year with Meg running the Badass Trail run at the Batawa Ski Hill. Whether you have supported us by sponsoring one of our runners, running yourself or registering your children to run Isaac’s Trek thank you for joining us in celebrating Isaac and for supporting our family's journey with DMD.
