  • Families can participate by registering for the virtual event, putting on their costume, and walking, running or rolling in their community or on their favourite trail.
  • The entry fee is $5, and each participant will receive an electronic Isaac’s Trek for Treats finisher certificate.
  • Research is the road to hope, and we cannot fund research without fundraising - be the top fundraiser and WIN a prize!

About Isaac

We received Isaac's diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy in September of 2016 when Isaac was 3-years-old. His diagnosis has impacted our entire family, his older brothers Luke and Peter and his younger sister Evelyn Anne. Duchenne primarily affects the muscles, but its impact is felt in more than just the loss of mobility. Isaac is now an active grade two student.

We are all excited to host Isaac's Trek for Treats again this year, even though we have had to adapt in response to the pandemic. We are hopeful that by taking action and raising money for Jesse's Journey, we will help reach a cure for Duchenne. We have continued to diversify our fundraising efforts as ever, supported by the amazing Acton Running community. At the end of May, our runners participated in the Acton Endurance Challenge/ Isaac’s Birthday Trek, running distance between 2.5 km and 10 km every 4 hour for 24 hours. Isaac’s mom ran 72 km in honour of Isaac’s 7th birthday, raising over $5,000 for Isaac’s Trek. Isaac’s Birthday Trek will be back this spring with  Isaac’s mom attempting  an Fastest Known Time run on the Thames Valley Trail (110 km) to continue to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Whether you have supported us by sponsoring one of our runners, running yourself or registering your children to run Isaac’s Trek, thank you for joining us in celebrating Isaac and for supporting our family's journey with Duchenne.
